The "HEART" of my Health Regimen
I started taking low dose aspirins at age 50. As I got older, I became more serious about taking it every day. Now, if I miss taking it, I feel guilty. I actually become fearful that today may be the day my heart needed it. I may be paranoid, but if I feel anything physical, that resembles a symptom of a heart attack, I wonder if I forgot to take my aspirin. I always take a bottle with me if I am away from home, for more than a day.
I used to take Bayer low dose aspirin. I switched to the Costco Kirkland brand of aspirin about two years ago. I may be wrong, but aspirin is aspirin. How many different ways can they make aspirin? Kirkland is the most economical brand available. That is why I chose it as my preferred brand.
The 81 mg tablets of aspirin was the only one available when I purchased it. I remember when I was a child, my parents gave me orange flavored chewable St. Josephs aspirin. I loved it! That was the only pleasant part of having a fever. Nowdays, I buy what is most economical. If chewable aspirins had a beneficial health impact, and was compettitively priced with the tablets, I would switch to a chewable form.
When I fill my vitamin organizer, I include a low dose aspirin in each space. There is no way I can miss or forget to take it. The only time I skip taking it, is when my doctor or dentist instructs me to not take aspirin.

  1. Of your different groupings of vitamin and medicine products, do you consider any one or two groups more important to your personal health than the others?

    Thanks, To!

  2. The most important group of vitamins is the ones for a healthy heart. Our heart is the center of life. Without it, life ceases to exist. Antioxidants are next in importance. It slows down the deterioration of our body and increases our resistance to disease. The two of these groups, with a balanced diet and proper exercise, almost everything else will fall in place, for being healthier. On the bottom of the list is medication for pain relief. I have a high tolerance for pain. Also, the causes of pain should diminish as my health regimen progresses.
